I stumbled across an engine Guru today that built my turbo Nissan weapon about 25 years ago & was talking about a rebuild on my 380 engine & he is keen to help out.

I received an email from him tonight asking for engine info, some of which I know, some of which I don't. Just wondering if anyone can help out with the answers or point me to a link with all the relevent info.

Thanks in advance .....

..... & now the questions .....

The compression ratio,
The number of cylinders,
The number of valves per cylinder,
The inlet valve head diameter,
The exhaust valve head diameter,
The inlet cam timing,
The inlet valve lift,
The exhaust cam timing,
The exhaust valve lift,
The internal diameter of your inlet valve throttle body,
The quoted “red line” RPM of your engine.

Here's a start:

Wikipedia claims "The 6G75 is a 3828 cc version with 95 mm (3.74 in) bore and 90 mm (3.54 in) stroke."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_6G7_engine#Applications_5

Fairly sure it's 4 valves per cylinder, 2 intake, 2 exhaust.

Check the service manual, some good chance it is in there.

The compression ratio, 10:1
The number of cylinders, 6
The number of valves per cylinder, 4
The inlet valve head diameter, 36.4mm
The exhaust valve head diameter, 32mm
The inlet cam timing, 6 Degrees retard from factory (common for the rear to be 8 due to pretensioner)
The inlet valve lift,
The exhaust cam timing, See intake cam (SOHC)
The exhaust valve lift,
The internal diameter of your inlet valve throttle body, TB Diameter? 63mm.
The quoted “red line” RPM of your engine. 6000rpm redline, 6850rpm rev limit (best confirm that rev limit?)

Lift intake 12.97, cam lift 6.36, duration 248, exhaust 11.65, cam 5.71, rocker ratio on both 2.04.
Mivec engines have 2.26 in, 2.16 exh rocker ratios and the high speed valve timing is ; in open 15btdc, close 69abdc, exh open 57bbdc, close 19atdc and the cam lift is in 6.21, exh 5.87.
Dont know if Mivec rockers can be made to fit, but if so, there would be so nice power gains.
