Not sure if this is going to keep me awake at night lol recently when i go start my car (sometimes) i find that the idle shoots up to around 2500rpm (on the crank) and then takes an while to drop down to normal level (ie longer than it should).
Recently i have installed a new starter motor but this shouldn't really have much to do with it? Is this an easy fix...... possible ISC issue?

It's not abnormal for a car to rev higher first thing in the morning before settling down to normal operating temp.
Has the car only recently done this?

I would be inclined to say either a vacuum leak or a faulty idle speed controller

How recent did you replace it and did you disconnect the battery? If so, that will be the cause, as the flash memory in the ecu gets wiped, and it has to relearn to idle and shift points for the tranny, ect

I done it about 2 weeks ago, but pretty much since then it has been causing me issues..
Whats the fix?

It'll relearn what it needs to after awhile and start to behave normal again. Mine had this after I had the a/c serviced. It idled too low, so I adjusted the speed adjustment screw when the engine was at operating temp until idling at about 700 rpm. Common thing to happen to 3gen Magna's after the battery's disconnected.

There's other threads on here about it as well

Mine has had the high idle at-start-up for around 3 years now, ive learnt to live with it...
Mine also almost stalls when im hard on the brakes like when im getting off the freeway etc, it has only stalled once on braking like this, and that was when i just bought 3 years ago.
Idle control unit i was told.

my does the same and i have to let it run for like 5 min before driving it or else it feels like it has no power
