Can I remove engine with the transfer case in place. It makes one of the bell housing bolts difficult to access. Anyone with experience have any advise?
Edit: might be possible to lift car up and over the engine

Simply put no, the trans case needs to come off as there will not be enough room to get the motor away from the box
You dont need to take out the trans, but you do need to take out the trans case

i am soon to be removing an AWD motor and box myself. my question is after the trans case is off can the motor and box come out as one unit?? the wreck is completely panel free and has no radiator support.

Once the trans case is off treat the car as if it was a FWD car because for all intents the car is no different to a FWD once the case is out (In so car as sizes of parts etc)

i have a mezanine floor in my shed and was also thinking about unbolting everything and lifting the body over the motor with a block and tackle. .problem is what is the best way to move the car out of the shed with no front end?? was thinking about welding some box section across the strut towers and bolting on a jockey wheel?? seen this done on a VK commo before..

Lift the front end and wheel it about with an engine crane?
