Hey guys

Just wont to know if any of yous out there can recomend a brand of springs and shocks for me, i would like it to sit low but not so low that u get a crappy ride.
I also would like to know whats the best height to go from std. i wont a good look, its on 18s so the rims arnt to big but i wont them to stand out a lil bit better and so theres no gap between the tyre and the wheel arch. also in the shock department whats better KYB's or monroe been hearing alot of different storys so hopefully someone could help me out ? or if u know of any other brand thats good. :woot::facejump::happy:

If you dont mind sacrificing a little of the ride to have the car look schmicko,

Boge Shockies & Dobinson SuperLow Springs

If you do..

Boge Shockies & Dobinson Low Springs

I was in exactly your position a few weeks ago, I wanted to lower my KH and get shocks, but I didn't know which shocks to go with.

I ended up biting the bullet and going all the way and got myself some Konis on Dobinson Lows. The Konis are apparently the best; and I'm no suspension expert, but I've driven a fair few cars and I dare say my Verada now has possibly the best ride I've ever felt. I like my ride hard, but not bone-shattering, something that feels responsive and can absorb the bumps, but isn't a boat... It's a delicate balance, but as far as I can tell, my Konis (and Dobinsons) are pulling it off amazingly! I spent about $1400 just for the Shocks/Springs and I do not regret it!

Of course, I haven't tried Boges in my Verada, which are supposedly almost as good, but for a lot less. If you don't want to spend too much, I would recommend exactly the same as GONE.

Get Boges with SuperLow is you're happy to sacrifice the ride-comfort a bit, or get Boges with Lows if you want a much better ride. Go for the lows lol

I've seen a common mod here is Kings super low springs on the front and low on the back.
Shocks - Boge are supposed to offer some quality at a low price, but my preference has always been for Konis also.
Interestingly, after 20+ years of car ownership, I've only replaced the front shocks on 2 cars and rear on a 4x4.
But those front shocks were both Koni and worth every cent IMO.

Hey mate, cant comment on shocks because I changed my springs only recently but I went for king lows front/rear(check my profile for pic's) lowered my TJ sports by 30mm & got rid of the boat look & really sharpened up the handling, depends how you like your car to ride, if you want SOME comfort & ground clearence to remain (like most of us) lows are best, super lows drop it by another 20mm (front only) & look awsome but affects comfort & on rough roads it even effects handling because shocks will come in contact with bump stops. really happy with the lows man im sure you will be to:D

im running boge turbo shocks and king lows which lower the car 3cm down on the exec or 2cm down on the sports
been happy with the combo.

Yeah strange one you know, I thought my TJ sports was 10mm lower than exec like my TF sports but I checked it up against an exec & was the same height:confused: when I thru in the king lows it ended up dropping it 30mm, same case with my mates TL VR , alittle odd but that was my experience anyway

how much do you have to spend, madmagna used to do some sweet deals on king springs with boge shocks....not sure if he still does them check out the mitsfix section for more details

personally i hate the feel of superlows and if your in a area where the councils like their gutters steep than you really dont want superlows either

i got kyb shocks and kings lows on my ride atm and its good for me

Try and avoid superlow as per above, aside from the bad ride, they are illegal

I can set you up with either Koni, Boge or if you are struggling a little for cash KYB, although the KYB would be at the bottom of the list for me

I can also set you up with either Dobinsons or Kings

If interested, feel free to give me a call

actually i never measured the drop, I just saw the info that the sport was 1cm lower then the exec so I just assumed the 3cm lower king springs would lower the sport 2cm.
