Hey guys,

My rear brake pads are worn down and I am looking into replacing them. I think I need the DB1204, but not sure. Somewhere I read that these are for non-ABS only. Who knows for sure which pads I need?

Cheers,
zaph

Pull one out, look for identification marks on it, trace an outline on a piece of paper, put it back, drive to your local friendly car parts supplier. Easy as.

In the book there'll be two different codes..

Make sure you take a picture of yours or trace it on some paper..

Tracing on paper is a better idea as you can open the box in the shop and check that it is EXACTLY the same.

IIRC sedan vs wagon are different, ABS vs non-ABS different again. (Or am I thinking of the second gen Magnas?)

Thanks for your help guys. I was hoping to save some time by asking the experts for the part number. Didn't expect Mitsi to use as many different parts as possible.

Cheers,

This may only confuse things but the most common disc was a pbr disc - db1204...but there are also other discs
sumitomo - db1239
akebono - db1238

as the guys have said take one with you....

Sorry wrong

ALL third gen Magna's except the AWD and the Ralliart run the 1204 in the rears, the listings are pretty crap for pads, some of the Jap Diamante did run a different pad but if is an Aussie built car is a 1204

Just a quick follow up:

I went to Autobarn asking for pads for my Magna. The guy said it was important to know which calipers I had, as there were different pads.
So, I thought 'better save than sorry', and pulled off one wheel in order to check the calipers.
Little surprise, Madmagna was right. PBR calipers with 1204 pads.
