hey peoples im new here, i just got lent an 1989 TP Elite wagon with just over 156000kms from my uncle and plan on buying it and a TP executive wagon 4 $1500.

does ne 1 know where i can get a decent centre console cos mine is falling apart and is it possible to take the standard premium sound system out and put in a normal sized CD player and the storage shelf from the base model?

welcome to the circus. if u ever need any help with it just ask cuz if some1 here doesn't know it, then its not worth knowing.

as for the stereo... i can't see a problem. or even better still, take out the stocker and fill the spots with a DVD player and in-dash screen. hehehehe

the centre console try your local wreckers but the console was a common thing to crack in all the gen1s.
yep it sure is possible, i know the elites had the double din standard but all the others had the single so u can get the lil storeage pocket from the wreckers to cover the lower 1/2, i cant remember how hard it is to take out tho but it should just pop out

Bah humbug, if people started saying hi to me i'd get the ****s. hi anyway, im planning to win the qld sound off with my stereo, it wont win until i get a decent 4chan amp though, and a serous sub and mono combo, but lets wait till this one is full assembled first, oh and look at my site first, ive got a step by step (kind of) guide to this with fotos etc that tackle replacing the stereo and center console at the same time. (head unit was too fat to fit into the top DIN so we had to take out the center and do it from behind.... :redface:

Your not wrong there. I had to replace the console in my TN after a break in and the wreckers said i would have more luck finding shark **** in a desert. I found one by fluke. It is possible, just a challenge.

How much did you guys pick up your centre consoles for? I got mine for $20... and I still have my old one too... perfect condition :D.

i picked up the rear half of a GLX centre console (no padded cushion like the SE is sposed to have :cry: ) for $50. this place had so many 1st gens it wasnt funny and the guy combed them all and only found 1 intact for me! damn mitsu making it out of crappy plastic
