I don't know if this is a stupid question, but do the 3rd gen Magnas usually have a better sounding exhaust than the Veradas?
OR,
Did the TH Magna have a better sounding exhaust than the TJ (or KJ) magnas?

The reason I ask is because my friend has a KJ Verada (Series 2 I think), and its exhaust is barely audible, whereas my dad's old TH has a much nicer, more aggressive sounding exhaust note.
Both cars were bought 2nd hand, but neither appear to have had any mods done to the exhaust.

The only reason I could think of as to why this could have been done deliberately is that the veradas are supposed to be luxury, and mitsubishi may have gone for minimising noise for that market.

Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks

there shouldn't be any differences between the two- they're the exact same system. my KJ2 had a noticeable bark when i was going flat-chat with the standard exhaust... at idle it was kind of quiet, but same was my brothers TH when it still had a standard exhaust and same was my mates old TH (which never had any exhaust mods when he had it)

i think it might be your imagination, or your mates 'rada was never driven hard in its life? either that, or your dad's TH did have it's rear muffler changed for a later model Sports muffler..?

Same exhaust system I think but the Verada's have more sound deadening so it will sound quieter in the car.

Maybe that the muffler internals are rusting out. This creates a bit of a bark to the exhaust note.
