Hi All , I am trying to rego a very clean 2000 Magna , Its failed its blueslip here in Singleton due to a small oil leak ( that i can wear & fix !) and also because the ABS lights on the dash didnt work ... the car is NOT fitted with ABS !!!!!!!!!!! , But the car has the sensors on the front hubs / Assembly .....The ABS unit has NEVER been fitted to this car & even the ABS fuse location does not have one terminal to be able to put a fuse in the location ... Has anyone come accross this before ?

If its an executive, ABS was optional. The Advance was a rung up the ladder and had ABS as standard. All TFs would share common parts like the hub assemblies even though the ABS module in the engine bay wasnt fitted
This link confirms the above advice...http://www.mynrma.com.au/motoring/reviews/car-reviews/mitsubishi/magna-tetf-19961999-used.htm
A 2000 model would indicate its a TH not a TF, but all the same the Exec was optional with ABS. Just look up your exact model in the car research section on carsales and see what it says is standard and optional.
Find a new mechanic.... your's can't read. If the car was optioned with ABS it would have it stamped on the options plate. Likely cause of sensors being on the front is hub swap due to either acco, or wheel bearings.

Ok
To start with, if it is a 2000 model it is not a TF
Secondly, the only way that there could be sensors in the front hubs is if a, there is ABS or b, ABS hubs have been used to replace defective std hubs and knuckles.
The cars with no ABS (up to and including TJ not all had ABS) did not have sensors installed, they did not even have the holes in the knuckles for the ABS sensors, the main rear brake lines were different as well needing to be replaced if there should be a situation where ABS has been installed as i have done a few times in the past
If your car does not have the modulator in the engine bay, then it does not have ABS but I can understand where someone with little to no Magna experience may think the system has been partially ripped out
