I am putting a 3.5 lt engine in my ralliart from 2005 magna TL i think they are. I was wondering will the ralliarts ecu be fine to run it or is it tuned differently for the ralliart engine?.

Ralliart tune is slightly different but seems to be pretty safe on a standard 3.5

if going for a engine swap why not consider a 380 upgrade??

Abuse over the years with a sprintex and rotrex supercharger killed it :). I am dropping a standard 3.5 until i build a stronger engine and want to know if the rallairt ecu will be fine or should i source the Tl ecu aswell.

You really should be considering a 6g75. The performance gains are well worth it in a magna. After being a passenger in one a few weeks ago i can safely say if i still had my magna it would have a 380 motor in it

i have the bullet kit with the rotrex and intercooler setup. But i am planning on keeping that : ) sold the sprintex a couple years back now.

What did that setup cost you??

To answer the actual question, yes the ralliart ECU will be fine, it will adapt. You will be running a small amount of less timing but no biggie at all, most of it is top end anyway

You can not use the TL ecu in the TJ anyway, the trans is different for starters not to mention some other little changes between the J and L

Apparently they can work if you flash over the ECUs? Life fitted a TL ECU to Zahrim's TH Sports

Flash over what tuen, the TJ ecu will not take the tune from a TL, I know this for a fact as one of the cars I got and onsold had a fried ECU, was a TL, went to get a TJ ecu and flast over, no go, got another TL ECU, flashed over fine with no worries at all so I would say Dean used a TJ ECU

No idea, but I know they were both Manual ECU's. And I'm pretty sure it was TL/TW because it was Lathiat's old ECU?

While I think Dean did use a TJ ECU, I believe you are actually incorrect about the ability to flash. There is however a trick to it depending on what setup you're using for the purpose. That said, putting a TJ ECU into a TL could cause no end of confusion at some point down the track when someone else needs to reflash it...

No, it was a TL ECU. Manual though, so did run a VSS (unlike autos).

OP has a manual so can use TJ, or TL provided immob is sorted.

Ah, yes... the manual ECUs are all the same hardware across the TJ/TL/TW, its just the autos that need the trickiness...
