its not a bad conversion to do, fairly easy, no major modifications needed, i THINK the engine wiring loom needs to be changed because the injectors wiring is shorter on the 3.0l, the 3.5l ecu might be needed, but that should be about it. make sure you get a low kilometer 3.5 and do the timing belt kit while the motor is out.

call mal and get a quote for a 3.8L out of a 380 first

maybe a bit more expensive but plenty more torque, if that is what you are chasing

Any chance you can repeat that in proper english, not in SMS style english so we know what the hell you are on about....

As for the 3.5 swap, you use everything from the 3.5 except the upper inlet maniflold and the injector loom, these come off the 3.0 You also need engine pipe, intermediate drive shaft and top alt bracket off the 3.5 (most will not come with this supplied) ECU can remain

i think he said.

proberly asking in the wrong section however has anyone done a later model to earlier model change?
wagons around the 1999 year onwards are out of his price range.

no, a 1st gen / 2nd gen engine will not go into your th engine bay.
3.5 litre from a tf is the same as your th, so you wont save any money that way

TF do not have 3.5 for starters

My 1997 TE has all of the SRS systems, ABS, Climate control, Trans mission, wiring, interior etc etc out of a TW VRX, the running gear is all a mixture of Koni, Dobinsons and a complete front end from a TW VRX (rack etc) the rear end all came from a TL VR wagon so yes you can do these things in a third gen BUT by the time you get eh parts and then fit them, assuming you knwo these cars like I do and can do it yourself, then you could have purchased several TW wagons for that matter.

I was way way off, I thought he was asking about fitting some kind of inline 8 engine into his car

There were NO TF that came from the factory with the 3.5, there is a myth that there were but there were not any at all.

The KE and KF had the 74, the first Magna to have a 74 was the TH
