Lucky me has rounded the nut which connects my fuel filter to my fuel line. Therefore need to replace this line...

Anyone ever pulled this fuel line out?

I have not replaced the actual entire length of the line from soft line near the fuel tank to the fuel filter but i have had a similar trouble unbolting the line from the bottom of the filter. PITA really

Its hard to reach as well as normally quite tightly torqued. For good reason.

I used a spanner (cant recall what size but i think it was either 12mm or 14mm) to the nut on the hard line as well as one on the bottom of the filter housing itself.
Basically turning both in opposite directions until the nut from the line cracks so you can undo the rest by hand.

How badly rounded is the nut?
If you have a pic it might help to post it in case the line and the nut can be salvaged without having to replace the entire line.

The trick is to NOT round this nut off in the first place. Oh, well . . . .

Try putting the new filter on using a small pipe wrench or locking pliers plus a spanner on the filter nut. If you can get it tight enough check for leaks carefully. You can activate the fuel pump and pressure the line without the engine running. When it's all together connect the FLAT connector on the passenger side of firewall to battery POSITIVE. If no leaks you are good to go. You are not likely to need to replace this filter again before the car expires of old age anyway.

Alternatively, get a flaring tool and new nut. Cut the flared end off, replace nut and flare the end. Your fuel filter might sit a bit lower in its holder so don't cut too much off the end of the pipe.

Hi All,

I am about to try and remove this fuel filter (verada KS) and have looked at it several times to try and see how the fuel inlet is connected.

From this thread I assume the fuel line is a flared connection, but it looks like there are 3 nuts on that end.
The fixed nut on the fuel filter body is understood, there is another fixed nut at the incoming threaded end on the fuel line, and one in the middle flush with the fuel filter nut.

It makes no sense to me and I must be seeing it wrong. I'am borrowing an endoscope to take a picture of it for a better view (if it's weird I'll post it).

If its a normal connection what size flared spanners are needed to un couple this (crazy way of connecting a fuel filter)?
