Hi all,
My 380's CEL came on yesterday on the way home from work, much to my surprise. I plugged in my USB OBD scanner to see what was up but my software reported no error codes.
My car is in for its 97,500km service on Friday - The CEL came on when I was on about 97,550km. No "spanner" icon has appeared any where indicating a service is approaching.
Is the CEL a replacement for the spanner that would appear in my TJ2 Magna, or is something else going on?
Cheers.

The 380 does have a spanner icon in the trip computer screen, so that's not the cause.
If it was a once off error that caused the CEL to come on, it will go off on its own after a while... Mine does it all the time and turns off again after 50 or so km. lol
Doesnt really explain why you have no code but at least if it goes off you know the car's probably not about to self destruct.

the 380 will only show the spanner icon 500kms before a major service (60,75,90,105,etc) the CEL is unrelated to that other than that i cant really help

Cheers for that... the car seems to be running fine at the moment. I'll give Mitsi a call tomorrow to see what they say - pretty sure it would be fine until Friday when the car is serviced, but want to make sure I cover myself for any warranty issues too.

Battery??
Car starts no problem and the cranking (what there is of it) doesn't sound any slower than it did last week.
The car is still running perfectly as far as I can tell - I might just tell them on Friday that the CEL came on on Thursday night and get them to check it out during the service.

Yep, that's the best bet.
The 380 ECU is notoriously fussy and will throw a CEL for almost anything that's not within 99% of 'normal'.
The most common one is 'crank angle sensor fault' which it tends to throw whenever there is any sort of voltage spike.
So your CEL was probably a false alarm or some transient thing that fixed itself.
But might as well play safe and get the dealer to check it out on their MUT11.
