I just paid $1800 for my TE Altera 4cyl auto. 6 months rego, RWC, CD, generally pretty tidy car, basically standard. 208,000km. Extensive service history.
Hope that helps.

sell parts and then sell the car as almost stock, you will make a little more money that way.

anyone know where could i get a rwc in hawthorn area or 25km radius around hawthorn without being rip off?
rwc check cost is a fixed fee dude, check ur state's road authority for prices and licensed inspectors
as for price check our www.redbook.com for a rough idea,
just remember in the day and age people dont give a damn what mods you have done, they buy for what other cars around the same age /type are selling for i would prolly stick 2500 NEG on the price and see what happens you can always lower the price if your not gettting as many quiries as you wanted

Do what the car yards do. Put a high price on it, advertise if for like $8,999 ono and leave it going for a while - won't cost much if anything on eBay. After a month, drop the price by $1,000 and repeat until it sells. Lots of patience required though. Realistically, a 15 year old TE with 234,000 km is only worth what people are prepared to pay, and it's hard to say. Just need one keen buyer though.
If you are in a hurry to sell, try $4K or 3.5K and be prepared to come down a bit.
