I've searched the forum trying to look for an answer, I may have missed one but I can't find what I'm looking for.

I have a KR Verada 92 with an auto gear box. Whenever I change gear from park or neutral to reverse or any of the drives, the car gives a fairly large jolt when engaging.

I'm not sure how long ago the oil was changed. Would an oil change help to stop or reduce this jolting or could I have a more serious problem?

auto should have a service once a year

could be a clogged filter

what colour is the tranny oil it should be red
not brown or have a burnt smell

The oil looks like it has been changed recently. It is a clear red, with no burnt smell.

I dropped into an auto specialist and was told that it may be the clutch or a solenoid grounding issue. Am I looking at an expensive problem?

a solenoid can be done with the pan off

could just be a loose or corroded wire at a plugs to the tranny
external inspection

if its bands the box has to come out
