You have to have no less than 100mm gap from the lowest point on the car to the ground and wheels will all depend on offset.

With 19s, I have 19x8.5 wheels wrapped in 235/35/19 tires. I'm on coilovers so it sits a bit lower than what you get with springs / shocks combo. But you get the idea. Check my ride out to see how it sits.

As above - you can onlylegally lower your car to a minimum of 100mm at the lowest point under the car. You have to find what under the car hangs down the lowest and then make sure that point is always 100mm above the ground. Anything lower is both unroadworthy & illegal and could give you issues with both insurance and the police. Be mindful that in Victoria - if the officer thinks at the time (even if there is 5 fat blokes in the car) it is too low then its too low (and defectable) and you need to have it inspected to prove otherwise. I'd aim to drop it to about 120mm so it doesn't look that low.

Re: Rims. Be mindful that finding 19" tyres with the magna load rating @ 95W is very hard and expensive. A few members on here have been caught out - such as member "Zeke". The cheapest quote he had on 19" tyres with 95W load rating was somewhere towards $400+ per tyre - otherwise there are some cheap generics around too but I would never risk my safety with such terrible tyres. Personally I'd opt for getting 18's. You can fit a set of 235/40/R18's to them and they are very easy to find and not too expensive. For a tyre of this size & nature (18" & low profile) to be able to buy better tyres for less than $200/corner is good. Make your life easier and get 18's ;) - they still look good - heaps of members here have them.
