Here is my TJ2 AWD.
What you see running here is a 380 sprintex kit running on a 380 block with pajero heads. Car is running untuned atm. I have a Link G4 Xtreme EMS that is ready to be wired in, however because the car's ECU also has the transmission running hardware in it, I can't get rid of it because the auto transmission won't work. Is anyone able to provide an example of an auto magna with an EMS piggy backed onto the stock ECU?
Is this not just a matter of splitting the sensors to feed both ECU's, but having all outputs (bar transmission) come from the Link?

That's what I've been thinking. Disconnect the all outputs to the motor from the stock ECU and have the EMS provide the outputs to drive the thing. Have both the EMS and ECU share the inputs.
I just have no idea if this will work.
I believe this is the same method used on CANBUS-equipt vehicles. It should be fine, I'd suggest flicking an email off to Link.

Although I have never personally wired in a piggyback system, you need to be careful as when the ECU detects things not connected such as injectors you will be in limp mode
My understanding is that things like spart are run through the piggy back, the ecu feeds information to the piggyback, the piggyback then feeds the revised information to the various things like injectors and dist. As far as the ECU is concerned it is firing injectors and ig coil but is actually just giving the piggyback these outputs to translate into the tune and modify
That is my simplistic understanding
I know you're prob sick of spending money, but have you considered an aftermarket TCU?

Fairly similar to how the SMT6 works. It intercepts the oxy sensor reading and feeds the ECU with something revised, the ECU then does what it does.
I have a full EMS not just a cheapy piggy back.
How about if I ground all the injector and ignition outputs from the ECU with resistors in series of each output to simulate the voltage drop of the injectors and shit?
Yeah life I saw that product this morning, but I didn't see that it supported those mitsu gearboxes. Those are from the 2nd gen and 3000GT's, but that's probably my best option soo far, my other being a manual conversion that Mal's working on.
