I've done a fair bit of searching and can't find an answer to this question: Where can I pick up the lighting circuit under the dash for foot well lights in my TJ S1? It doesn't have either plug.

Would tapping into the door loom on each side be a better solution?

You can tap into each door, but you would be doing it the long way. The best place to tap into is at the top junction box. There is a little black plug for the main dome light with 2 wires, one red and the other is red with a white stripe.Tap into that, red is constant and the other is negative when one of the doors are opened. :)

Door trigger ground is the red with white stripe to the top left of the junction box in the drivers kick.
