I wish that I could do mine but I have the GLX (DAMN DAMN DAMN!) and I have the vinyal doors with no material so it's buckleys town for me to do it myself I think.

That looks good I like the red and black effect like in killbilly's magna, bottom should be done as well I think.

Looks good!! :D

I'm still tossing up whether to paint the inner door handle cover and the handle bit in the armrest a different colour.

Seen it done in silver (EEK), looks OK in pics but dunno about in the flesh.

Was gonna ask him but he's a self admitted rice fan. ( not dissing you EEK, each to his own) :D

Better go, the fumes from the vinyl paint are starting to freak me out.

*Commodores are such great cars, I really should sell the Magna and.......*

Well hello

Self admitted rice fan, well, you know there is one inside every one of us. Its whether we choose to ignore it or wake it up and feed it.

my excuse: i am asian

Anyways, as to my silver door handle surrounds, my main concern when i did them was whether they were gonna wear out and fade over time. i did spray about 5 coats of primer and another 6-7 coats of paint.

U could ask slammed_gtv or mr altera on what they think of it in the flesh  Lastly, i'm not sure on spraying the rest of the door with vinyl paint, or whatever, coz if i do, i know i will have to do the whole dash as well (pedantic personality i think)

You're right, EEK.

I'm just too scared to let my rice side loose!! :D

Go the painted dash!!! Gonna do mine when interior comes out for ICE install.

The whole silver thing is growing on me.( seen new Magna interior?)

Thinking about silver door handles ala GT-P. How is it after 6-7 coats? Not too bulky?

Cheers.

That looks sweet. Definitely a good job. Whenn I finally purchase a magna, i'm thinking of spraying the entire dash black, doors, armrests and all. I dislike the standard colours. Plain black should be nice. Though I bet it would be a big job. Guess I have time to practice.

Does anyone have a how-to on interior respraying? I'm thinking of picking up a few pieces from the wreckers to practice on. By the time I purchase the car I should be pretty confident. Or I could just practice on the in laws magna what do you rekon suf? ;-) You rekon doc would be impressed...lol

Need some info on what paint to get, what tools are required and a decent how to.

hey bulga,

6-7 coats each of primer and paint were only thin. For some reason i was told to do lots of thin coats. After the paint dried i got out some car wax and polish and buffed up the painted surfaces. They became all smooth and stuff....dunno what good it really does, considering i didn't want a fully glossy surface.

As for [NOMADIC] commodore u should go. As for me, I get to choose from every honda to toyota and nissan. :P
