View Full Version : Battery installation
Hi Guys
Recently got 2005 GT, is battery change over pretty much standard stuff? No chance of damaging anything electrical? The stock stereo will prob need the unlock code?
Any tips appreciated.
Also I've heard you shouldn't jump start with 380, is this true?
Thanks in advance!

Straight swap, depending on what radio face you have you may or may not need a radio code. Shouldn't damage anything electrical, as long as car is off etc, and you take the terminals off in the right order :)
Never heard about the jump starting the 380 thing.. If it makes you feel better, Ive jump started over 9000 at work!
Hey LawlMagna
Thanks for your response.
What about using 380 to jump another vehicle ie. 380 having the good battery? I've got the stock unit.

Best tip there is to know for changing battery, when you take one off, wrap it up with a rag, then take the other one off and do the same to be safe.
I had t opull off that strut brace thingy to get at the battery and it was fiddly with the clip stick things but if I can do it anyone can.

Yeah the strut thingy makes it a little more fiddly.

dont unscrew the black bar holding the car together ;-) i had my battery replaced by NRMA when it died... it took only 10min to swap over... although you need to have a neck for it as the guy from NRMA was teaching new guy how to do it...
