So the light that lights up the keyhole next to the steering wheel won't come on at all. I opened it up and there didn't look to be anything physically wrong with it. What do i do about fixing it? Can they be replaced?

There is nothing wrong with it per say,you just need to add a globe lol

Go to the wreckers and get a T5 bulb holder,,ie...ashtray light.....splice into your door light /footwell circuit and there you go.

The harder way is to spice it into the bem ,but ,into the the interior light circuit is good enough

and see your other post about footwell lights..

same deal.....go to the wreckers and any 2nd gen will have the bulb holders you need to twist/ fit straight into your lower dash bits,

dont worry about the plastic white covers as they diffuse the light too much...and ,dependng on the led globes you use,led stripes are much better...

Its not actually a bulb one. Its this copper coil thing.

The coil is for your immobiliser, on the back of that plastic somewhere there is a T5 cut out for a bulb.Just add the bulb with its holder and wire it in, as above. :)

Best likely there is a 2 way connector taped back on the wiring about 150mm forward of the immobiliser receiver aerial,
As other posts say, go to a wreckers and buy the correct bulbholder and wiring loom.
That is what I did, plus footwell lights, C pillar lights and a Verada front light.
In my car, a TJII AWD, all the connectors were already in place as I suspect that MITS had common wiring looms for the 3 AWD models.

It is the antena for your imobiliser, It reads the code off the chip in your key.

NO...look at the back of it and you will see a hole for the globe holder there...

http://www.club3g.com/forum/images/smilies/dienewbie.gif...........sorry,just had to use it...ummm..there is no wiring there....you have to make it all up..

l actually have a loom here that allows you to hook up the two footwells lights, glove box light and the ignition light and all you do is splice into the interior light wire ,which ,for ease of access, is behind the drivers side a pillar cover.

Well the wiring diagrams for a TH refer to Connector B21 for the ignition barrel light.
As I said before.
Remove the lower instrument cover panel that goes under the steering column.

You are looking for a 2 way connector that is likely to be taped back on the wiring that leads back from the ignition switch.
