I've heard that it is possible to change from an analogue dash to a digital one.
Ive currently got an analogue dash in my TP GLX (sedan). My brother is getting rid of his Elite (sedan) and i want to use the digital dash in my Magna.
Does anyone have any information regarding the procedure for changing the dashes across?
Thanks

all the senders thats- fuel -speedo-oil pressure
have to be both sedans
the complete front wiring loom off the elite
dont just cut of the wiring of at the closest joins
being a carby to efi... it presents problems
the wiring is different colour codes
elite also has air con temp controller wired in some where
there are 3 pages of wiring diagram for the digi dash
thats why its better to grab the loom
take you about three days to convert....... whole dash out

i did my by cutting and splicing. as magnabuff said you need the fuel gauge and speed sensor from the donar. if it has the oil pressure gauge instead of light you need the sender for that too, otherwise the original will work. mine has the original temp gauge and that works fine so far (8 months sisnce i did it).
i spliced the digital plugs into the analog loom (leaving original pluges for future just incase) with total success using a Gregory manual that was meant for a tm. (tm's are all carby and mine is a EFI TP, there didnt seem to be any wiring colour change on the dash connectors, but there is on the engine as buffy said). it took about an hour to nut out and solder all the wiring. there will be like 3 wires left over tho, for cruse and tranny and a few other things that the se didnt have. so glx may have more.
ill say one thing tho, if you are going to undertake this you need a decent understanding of auto electrics. all joints need to be soldered and taped properly. and you have to pay attention because there are heaps of wires the same color but different things. they just have different plugs / positions. WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT CUT THE ANALOG PLUGS OFF!!!
if you want ill try and make a list of what wide goes where and post it if i get time.
it is easy to use the gregorys diagram once you get your head around it. it certainly isnt the best diagram tho.
if you want to continue let us know and ill make a diagram
cheers,
jay

Thanks for the quick replies
Just to clear it up
I'm transferring the digi dash from a tp auto elite EFI to a tp manual EFI glx.
Will the fact that it is manual make a difference.
If not, I'd really appreciate any diagrams available.
Thanks alot.

He is ripping it to bits to build up a Tp SE with all the mod cons, except the dash.

mine is manual and its no problem what so ever, just means the selector lights dont work. ill make a vid of the wiring connections as that will be much easier then listing them all. ill then post it on youtube and put mirroe it on here, makes it much easier and lets it help others in the future.
