Hi all,
I have had this problem for a while. Went through all the posts and found nothing that helps.
I can turn on the cruise control (the orange light will go one), but that is as far as I get. I checked the vacuum hose and it was fine. I dont know where to go from here.
Is there a way to test the pump? Any clues would help.
Thanks

the motor/vacume part might be the problem
have some one in the car
and see if you can hear it working or not
they can be pulled apart
s/h one from a wrecker maybe

What is the person inside the car doing? Doesnt the car have to be over 40 to activate it?

LED general have less resistance compare to a standard lamp, so they are known for screw up cruise control.

So I have found. I am hooking up load resistors to fix the problem. There goes a good part of leds. But ah well!

I have this happen on mine but intermittently, I have found that it is in my brake pedal switch or there somewhere. If I tap my brake pedal reasonably firmly so that it bounces back, my cruise works straight away, then after several brake applications I go to resume and nothing, I have to tap the pedal again. I am due to pull the dash out soon, so I will get a good look at what is down there and I am thinking it is probably years of built up dust, dirt, fluff and grease that are preventing a good contact.
Might help you, might not!

Out of curiosity... why is the dash coming out? Does sound a bit like you have guessed. I am guessing you drive around with your brake lights on quite often. People brake when they see your brake lights go to tail lights :P

Ah, converting it to climate etc with blackout cluster gauges. (3rd gen TE). No, don't really drive around with foot on brake that much, I did look though and its as I thought, dust dirt and carpet fluff build up combined with whatever the lubricant was for the pivot and switches there. It is all pretty manky and I am going to hit with some electrical contact cleaner once I get the worst of the gunk out.
