I purchased my new car yesterday, drove up to sydney to get it.
I must say it's awsome. so smooth, even though it's done a 100 k it drives like new.
I have previously owned a VT Calais and VXSS and I must say, even though it doesn't go as hard it beats the commodores in nearly every other way.
It's a better car, I really love it. The small loss in power is a small price to pay, considering the smoothness and quality of this car.
I often drive my dads BA Fairmont which has 17's and sports suspension, and I must say I would probarbly choose the Verada over the BA.
It does have $3000 worth of suspension and wheels though, and isn't a porky pig either.
I can't get over the fuel consumption, did 800 kays on the hume last night for 60 litres, this is the most ecconomical V6 I have driven - by far. Gr8 car, look forward to joining a cruise sometime here in vic. My other mates have new magnas too so we were talking of starting something here in geelong.

One of them actually purchased those 18's of here which was auctioned, that was an odd thread. It was for sale, next minute an auction.

Oh there is a god! At last, an AMC member here in Geelong (that admits to it anyway).
I went to Sydney, from Geelong and got to the outermost surburbs without a SINGLE RE-FILL :surprised Actually I was  Tank was full o fumes probably.
Does anyone know how much usable fuel there is in a 70 litre magna tank? Apart from my epic trip that time, the most fuel I have ever managed to squeeze into a supposedly empty tank is 56 litres.

Light comes on and off when there is 20litres left.. Solid light at 15litres.
I filled up yesterday for $58 @ 92.5c Litre = 62 litres

Nice one BAIN. Errm, I heard it wasn't a good idea to let the tank get as dry as you did with that 62litre fill-up 'cos you may get particulates sucked into the fuel lines.

Which can cause idling, injector and fuel line issues.
Im not worried though.. The car is under warranty for another 2 years and where I take my car I get it looked after pretty well.

I let my tank goto the bottom almost all the time so there never is a crap build up
I've got 810kms to a tank on the way home from melbourne, not too shabby :D

On $16 of fuel (roughly 17 litres) a Scooter could do 17 x 50km = 850kms :D Bet you didn't think of that mate :poke: only mucking around but it's true. Or even better get an electric vehicle. All you pay for is batteries :D

umm yeah ok... 16 bucks of gas... :D i would definately recomend any one if they had the option to get a duel fuel and no, its very hard to tell the difference in power when driving besides with all the money saved, more for MODS

I'm not alone! there are other people in Geelong! We should organise a cruise down here so we can meet up.

There's no point investing in one now unless you already have one because in a few years time (I forget the year) they will be changing the way gas is taxed and there won't be much of a price difference. Plus I have heard sum dodgy stories about cars running on gas, not to mention the drop off in power etc.

Well my other mate has a solara done up, the other a green verada exactly the same as mine. The forest green in an xi. His has a massive exhaust, stickers on the side with neons all round. He has just fitted an evo wing, looks gr8. (u would probarbly know of it, it stands out, if not in looks the noise will get your attention)
We were talking about starting some cruise down here, maybe u could join.

lol, ask your mate with the verada if he got the AMC flyer I put under his wipers at Harvey Normans :)
I'm keen for a cruise, just let us know when and where and I'll be there :)
