Hi all, I have seen many roller blinds available for the TR-TS and KR-KS are they interchangeable with a TJ? Can anyone test for me? Thanks:eek2:

Nope, not interchangeable, they are slightly wider and the attachment system is different. There's some pics of the 3rd gen mounts in this thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39059). That said, the 3rd gen blinds seem to be so hard to come by and so expensive, that I'm still going to try to mod my 2nd gen blind to fit, need to get some spare wall plugs first to hack apart and hybridise. I believe with some custom fabrication they could be made to fit.
There have been a couple of 3rd gen blinds on ebay lately, but none of them have included the mounting points, and without these they're just as useless as the 2nd gen ones.

I just search for "magna blind", "magna cover", words like that. This one (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubish-Magna-Verada-Rear-Boot-Cargo-Cover-Retractable-/220909859045?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336f40f0e5) is up there at the moment, the guy doesn't have the mounts so I won't be bidding, go for it. I know of another one the other month that noone bid on, again no mounts, but you could probably contact them directly to see if they wanted to sell it to you. That one was beige though.

If you want prying eyes off your tools and other possessions, there are a couple of other things you can try.
Large plastic storage boxes on wheels are available from places like Cunninghams. I use a large shallow one for tools, and a taller one for oils etc. With the wheels removed they don't slide around. Lid on = privacy. The tool box stays in, but the bigger one needs to come out when I need to get to the spare. They get turned sideways when I drop the rear seat so I can still get 3m lengths of timber in my TS.
You can get large metal tool boxes about the same width as the space behind the rear seat between the wheel wells, but they aren't cheap.
You could get artistic with MDF and make some lidded boxes, or one big box with compartments. Just make sure you can still get to the spare wheel.
I've not gone for a blind in my TS wagon, as they are scarce second hand, and probably don't last too long inside a hot car before the material hardens and splits. (I could be wrong there)

I was just looking at the one, I have the mounts just wasnt sure if its for a TJ mount. Thanks will keep an eye on it, meanwhile Mits-Fix has one so I will see what happens. Thanks

(I could be wrong there)Nope, my old TS had one when I bought it (10yrs old), and I had it for about another 6yrs, still going strong. Only thing was the little plastic knobbly bits that hold the blind in place at the tailgate had separated, drilled and riveted and never had an issue since.
The beauty of the cargo blinds is that they're flexible, you can open or close at will, stretch it over if your load is a little higher than the level (within reason), and quickly remove the entire thing if it's getting in the way of a big load (eg. got back seats down and fitting a desk or something in the back)
There's two 2nd gen ones on ebay right now.

If andif is not interested in the $60 second hand unit, i'll take it.
Please send us a pick if he doesn't want it.
How much to post to NSW metro?
Thanks.

why were these not oem fitment?
I cant justify the price of a new one on a car this old!

Possibly because of the price of these parts is why they were Optional and not Standard, just like floor mats etc etc. If you want an item which is an option then you either need to search wreckers until you find what you are looking for or pay out the coin needed to get it new if still available

I would have thought a car such as mine which is pretty well fully loaded (dual airbags, cruise control etc) would have come standard with a cargo blind.
Ahh well i will search the net for a used one :)

We've been cleaning up the Garage and guess what we found the old TH blind, I took it out when I had LPG Fitted and the Verada is also on LPG so if anyone wants it let me know.
