G'day All.
Lately it's one thing after another with the TF Magna.
New issue is the bloody horn has stopped working.
I have read previous posts and checked fuse in kick panel and pulled the horn cover ff to check the points which seem to be fine. My question is, how do i go about checking the relay and where is the actual horn located so that I can check to see if it is the horn that has died and nothing else in the circut.
Any help be greatly appreciated.
While on the subject of wiring, I brought the car with an after market stereo in it. when the car is off, it doesn't hold the time, radio stations, etc. Any suggestions? Or just live with or replace? Not a big issue to live with it but figure am starting to do more work n own car so open to suggestions.

Cheers All

The horn i cant help you with, but with the sterio, im guessing it was just wired up instead of using the adaptor plugs, so, a head unit needs constant power and accessories with earth to work, i would say the constant power wire has been substituted for either an accessory or ignition wire. the constant power wire is what holds the memory

The horn is under the passenger headlight on the inside of the front bar. I doubt the relay would be the problem, i had a similar problem ,you have probably read my thread.

have you taken the horn pad off to see if power is getting to it using a test light?
mine just randomly fixed itself when i started hitting the horn in traffic knowing it didn't work and hey presto horn is fixed, long shot i know, but worth a try.

Road rage saves the day again! :P

I like to contain my road rage to the cabin of the motorvehicle, the light was green and the guy in front of me was on the phone and not moving, if i was to reffer back to when i was 17 in my vl commodore with no horn, i use to hang my head out the window and scream... lol. Hitting the horn pad payed off ten fold.

headunit issue sounds like someone has tied the constant power and acc power to the same constant on wire ( noob mistake but common )

as for the horn, check the wire connection at the actual horn, mine was mucking up recently and they wire was barly hanging on, put a new crimp plug on it and works great
also check the horn as mentioned above

G'day All.
Horn started working all on it's own again. After a stinking hot day, got in and was working again.
PLaying round with stereo this weekend so will hopefully fix it.

Thanks for the info again to all.
