Hi all, A few months ago I heard a slight grinding(?) in a rythmical manner when turning right from the left front and lately its there (mildly) when driving straight. Any ideas on what it may be, costs and places in Perth to repair it. Cheers shaun

if it's a grinding/rumble noise it's more likely to be a wheel bearing. Worn CV's will click when driven at full lock

yeah im sure CV's will only "click" and early they will do it on full lock.

I agree with Benau, most likely your problem shaun is the wheel bearing. Also you could take off the wheel, turn the wheel right and see if anything may be getting pressed against the brake rotor, maybe theres something up with the heat shield there, But id say its your bearings, when turning right, the left wheels pushing up against it even more than usual and that could be your noise.

Yeah this happened to me earlier in the year. I had the exact same thing turning right slowly and even not on full lock it did that clicky rattley noise. Got mine fixed at rpw cost a little over $500 all up. Ouch. Then they told me my wheel bearings need to be replaced too, cost about the same.

If your worried about your bearings you'll know if there rooted by going on the freeway or something at 100+ it will be loud. Very annoying and pricey but not a seriuos problem

Gday all, Well I had my system done today. I had my Genie muffler off my last car put on my Magna with a 2 1/4 system with a 14" hotdog. I think it sounds ok but thats just me. The only thing I didnt like was the tip they put on it. It was sort of a dump pipe but it came down lower than the skirt on the TE so I cut it off (pretty poor job but who sees it). While there they checked my CVs as asked and the only thing they picked was the drivers outer boot is split so I need it done(cost anyone???). They told me about $80, is this ok. So now what do I look for with this DAMN noise. Also they mentioned that Id dropped the car with Kings and was I happy with the height and I said no and they said they have made a jig for the springs especially to cut em down!!!!!!! Which surprised me with all the controversy over this. He also said this isnt a problem as long as it is done properly and the same amount is cut off each. He didnt recommend compressing as they can get"spring chatter" where the coils bang together and also that the spring rate is lost. Well thats it for now. Take it easy all. Hope to catch up on a crooz soon. Cheers Shaun
