Hey guys love this forum!! I bought a 2006 380 VRX about 6 months ago with no mods and I keep having a problem with the Traction Control light coming on and the car going into limp home mode. I have no acceleration until I pull the car over turn it off and turn it back on again and even then it may (or may not) do it again straight away. The car has been taken to mechanics and Auto Electricians and the code was the Throttle Positioner but even knowing the code they havent been able to fix it and its getting frustrating.
I have found that once i get the car upto 50kph I can then put the Cruise Control on and control the car speed with the control arm on the steering wheel and it doesnt happen ever, but I have problems when I start to use the pedal again, which would make me think that if its not the positioner or the throttle body (which i think have both been replaced whilst they have been trying to figure this out) then it must be the pedal itself.
Any help would be much appreciated on this problem. Thanks

Hey mate and welcome to AMC!

Does your 380 still have warranty? If it does I'd be taking it straight to the dealer and let them sort it out, can't say I've heard of this problem before.

Thanks mate,

Yeah its still under warranty, but they seem to be having trouble fixing it so I thought any help I can give them would benefit me in getting the car back quicker. To their credit the dealership where I bought it have been great and they have sent it back to Mitsubishi twice and not even they can figure it out.

Once fixed I will post the results incase anyone else has the same prob.

+1. Even get an air compressor in their and see if you can blow some of the brake dust out. Could be faulty sensors, but don't know how that would be putting it into Limp Home Mode.

As for the accelerator, the 380's still run a cable don't they? Could be a kink or something grabbing on the cable behind the dash/firewall area, have you tried replacing it? Or has mitsu tried?

Sorry its been so long but ive just now only FINALLY got the problem fixed!!!! They had to replace the entire wiring loom on the car to fix the problem. Its been about a month now and have had no problem and now I can actually enjoy the car!! Im going overseas in june but have decided that when i get back Im going to spend around $1000 on the car and from what Ive read in other posts, suspension (king lows), exhaust (berklee), galant intake and K&N filter is the best way to spend it. I might after all that get a set of 18/19's if i can find a set cheap enough. Thanks for all the help when i had the problem it was much appreciated.
