Ok I got it today....
Couldn't wait to put it on the TH Sports so instead I put it on the TE 4cyl....
(Didnt relise it was so dirty under there  , well I will have wash it out)
Hope you like.
Oh nearly forgot ... it is unknown brand... (got it from the Raliart dealer .. Last one It is normally off a Mirage) it connects to the MAS with a large plastic fitted plate, that has a 5" raised round section on it to bolt the POD.
the POD has a 5" Dia exhaust and I havnet measured the inlet hole....
Im prob going to put it in a custom box fed via the bonet vent on the passenger side of my EVO VI bonnet.
It sounds G R E A T!!!!! :D It revs SOOO MUCH MORE and has just the nicest resinating note about it at 4500+ RPM.
Im in a cold sweet thinking about it. =P~ =P~

i think maybe its to help direct where the incomming air comes from.. in his case, the incomming air is comming from the existing air intake. by having the yellow thing, id imagine its shielding off most of the engine heat.
?? just an idea :D

But where it is it lookes like its shielding off most of the incoming cold air as well :?

you guys :D...
This is a temp install o fth POD in my TE...
In the TH it will have its own sealed box fed via the bonnet vent.
I think that in some of your guys cases it would be better since all you would have to do is get your CAI piping from the lower fog light hole and bring it up and then adapt it straight onto the end of the yellow thing.... thus sealing the air flow and making it only suck from the front and not from the sides...
Thats my thoughts.
But yes I would think atm it is being restricted because it is sucking from behind the battery only ... the cold air that comes in from the air intake might shield it from the engine heat a bit as it would be flowing around the yellow adapter and more then probably being sucked in the end...

Drove the TE again today with the POD on it.
I LOVE it ... Best 110 Ive spent on my car...
That suction noise when you get up in the revs.... it has a deep growl and reacts like a powerband on a 2stroke..... It seems to just rev up so fast.
I think Im going to marry it.
It could work... my little pod as a bit of an opening and already has the ring.
she could give me some serious hickies if I seal over the end of the cover and gave her a good old reving.... (dont go there about the BJ she could give )
*sigh*... I wonder if I would have to go to Tassie to make it legal? Seems if marry your sis or mother down there is legel then me getting hitched to my pod should be cool.

cheap thrills......
same noise 0$$ :D
well depends on what pannle filter u got... i got a k&n so it sounds awsome!! Thats a temp thing only did it once will not do it again ttill i get a scooop n get some cold air :D

Pines ... you cheap scape!!! :D :D
maybe you could use some 1000mph tape wrapd around it as well.
I know when I took my panel out and then removed the back bit, I found like 3 large bush cochroches (dead) just lying infront of the filter...and the filter it self was totally clogged up with dust and dirt and little leaves and insectes... Man I should clean that out at least once a year :D ..

When your on bugger all income you'll do anything for a cheap mod.
Been there done that.
Some people can't dish out hundreds of dollars for mods, we have to respect that. :-({|=

For those people you are using Panel filters ... couldnt you guys just do this?
see attachments...
Basically remove wedge part from front of the box... put in your panel filter and then run the cai piping from the front of the cars fog lamp area and seal it onto the front of the air box.....
would have to be the quickest and easiest to do surley...
for us that have pods we need to shield it and refix it to the car some how to stop it from flapping around.
Let me know if some one as already done this and how iwell it works...
Oh and if this how you panel types do it already then ... Im a bit slow ... so forgive me :)

I did do that before my pod.
It worked well, especially on cold morning but i found better results with the pod and the cold air ducting.
if the POD is so good as everybody says, why isn't Mitsubishi fitting it to the all it's EVOLUTION series instead of the panel?
I think their engineers know better than "everybody" and please don't tell me it's a matter of cost

iv got twin cold air, 2x75mm flex tubeing sealed to where the fog lights go running up to a 85mm pvc Y section, then 75mm from there to the air box,
gutted my panel filter and put a pod in the air box............deadset pain in the arse putting the pod in the air box
made a huge difference in top end and speed

I had the big K&N oval pod fitted straight behind MAF sensor, with front part of box and intake scoop above radiator left on, back half of box taken out. That was too noisy for my liking and stuff all gain, SO..
stock panel in airbox is back in, cut a nice neat hole in plastic panel in front of radiator ( the panel that covers the bonnet latch mechanism) under that , behind the grille and in front of radiator have fabricated a scoop. This scoop feeds in air as a rammed CAI, it works well with the panel but can also be used to ensure cool air is always flowing to your pod instead of hot air from around engine.
dont have digi camera so cant post a pic, but if I get out on a cruise one of the WA guys could take a pic, if anyones interested.
Also if you just like the loud induction noise you just need to take off the round pipe from the front of airbox to scoop over radiator, leaving a round hole that echos and reverberates- costs nothing. But for me the magna is all about being quiet and smooth in the first place :)
