When I first got my TH Exec about a month or so ago I got a 2 pack of each set of lights (H1 and H4, I think) which were what appear to be decent, however I'm wondering if I can go brighter and better. i see all these other cars that seem to have better headlights, and when they travel behind me i can see my car shadow as their lights wrap around me. Without breaking my wallet, what bulbs can I buy to get better light on low beam (will do high beam another day)?
TL;DR: Got Narva plus 50's, wondering if I can get better bulbs without spending way to much money. Or another cheap fix.
Also, with the headlights, is there a way to properly adjust them to get the best light without blinding other drivers? Like a method to follow when adjusting them. Otherwise, does a place such as say, Autobarn offer headlight alignment services?
i use philips +100s now, and seriously, the light out of those bulbs are just rediculously bright, but they are about $40 a bulb, but you wouldnt look back after getting them.

No worries. Would there be much difference between the narva platinum and narva plus 100s? All i can see is on the platinum the entire glass body is blue versus the plus 100 which is only a blue tip.

I have HIDS fitted to my low beam and then plus 100s in high beam. My hids cost me $99 and would never go back!
Pm MR SPL if you want to know more. Hes the expert on HIDS

Going to stay away from HIDs, from what ive read if they dont come stock on the car then legally theyre a bit iffy?

only use the HID if you have Parra headlamps and normal headlamps are too out there for on coming traffic

Upgrade the relays and wiring and you will notice the difference. Behind that then +100's or HID. Of course are not legal but if you get 4300K and position them properly then should not be a problem

Yes the Platinum's dont actually produce more light, they produce a whiter light, the platinum's also tend to have a blue tinge to them.
Halogen globes have a kelvin and a lumen rating the higher the kelvin the lower the lumen, the kelvin is the K after 5000 or 6000k as such, so the whiter the light the lower the Lumen (eg: light output) rating is.
Plus 100 otherwise known as the old Narva Blue Power's will be the best globe money can buy.

They're blatantly illegal. They're not too shabby though (I have low + high beam HIDs in my parabolics).
I'm +1 with MR SPL - add a set of relays. If you have a read through the Headlight Thread that's stickied in this section, you'll notice that there is a fairly significant voltage drop on the headlights that has been confirmed by more than one forum member, which corresponds to a noticeable drop in light output. This voltage drop can be rectified through bigger wiring and relays.

As an auto electrician, I am against HID's, I remove more kits than I fit, they are too complicated and too fragile for headlights. Needless complication for something that really shouldn't be complicated. A HID blows on the side of the road, you cant just get another globe and fit it, no servo stocks replacement HID tubes, and, because the average person will see it all and be like WTF, not to mention that to wire in the HID's some weekend warrior has cut the H4/1/3/7 plug off so leaving them without a headlight. the K.I.S.S principle applies to headlights. There is too much crap to get ****ed up, the igniter, the ballast and the globe itself, as well as the Hi/Lo module on H4 conversion kits. Most headlight dramas are due to: Shit globes, shit wiring/relays/switches, shit reflectors and lenses and incorrect aiming. I have standard H7 and H1 globes in my para's and can see fine, and had standard H4 and H1s in my standard headlights and were just as good.

I am against HIDs in stock reflectors, but i personally LOVE them in spotlight and projector upgrade applications. Also really depends on the quality of kit you get as to what happens with reliabliity. As for changing them its not much different to changing a normal globe. Disconnect 2 plugs and take it out like a normal globe! You can see fine with the lighting you have but with projectors and HIDs you can see EVERYTHING. If you go 4300K then you retain the stock globe colour also
