Sorry if this answered before. Have a 4cyl TR Magna with 5 speed manual. All is great except it jumps out of gear in first. I've been told 2 different things. 1, Box is stuffed and to just start off in 2nd. 2, Clutch needs adjusting. I'm in the bush and my local, mechanic is the one telling me it's the first option. Anyone out there with experience can advise which might be right? Thanks in advance.

is it making a scrapping sound in first or as it jumps out??
as you only use first for a short time hold it in as starting in second will kill the clucth

More a clunking sound. I was holding it in first but mechanic told me not to :doubt:

after you are sure its not the drive shafts
clutch is hydraulic so non adjustable
wont hurt the box anymore if you use first
and hold it till you can get second
its the syncros in the first gear cluster or bearing
best option is a s/h box as soon as you can afford it
fixable but hard to find syncros they are special ceramic
4th gear syncro was $400 just for the part some years ago on a V6 box
I think they come in through hyundai suppliers
