To make a long story slightly shorter, I recycled a hail damaged TJ last year.
My daughter and 4 kids have now "borrowed*" it, and are making a bit of a mess of it . . . .
("borrowed*" as in . . . .when can I have it back, daughter?)

(1) It's dirty! A couple of handfulls of gravel on the roof doesn't help.
(2) Window up, window down . . . .kids!
Result: one broken window winder, and window seals that are constantly come adrift out of the channels.

Question: OK to glue these strips in? I'm sure other frameless window Magna owners have come across this problem!

Good news (for some) though. Melbourne has had hail! This means some written off hail damaged cars will hit the market in a month or so. I will be looking out for a Magna wagon to replace my 1994 TS wagon.

If your car was caught in the hail storm, my deepest and sincerest regret. Apparently it doesn't take much damage for an insurer to write them off.

My rear D/S door had the trim pulled out in the top left corner - I was going to try and glue back in but bro-in-law just pushed it back into the groove it was pulled from....no glue needed...however I'd reckon that a few years more and the rubber will have degraded and glue will be needed.

I think I will just get it over with and glue the things in. Come loose at the back of the back door opening and at the leading bit of the front doors. Probably because I took them off and put them back on about 4 times while I was working on it. Live and learn I suppose. Frameless door windows are nice, but they are partly responsible for the low 3 star crash rating.

How so?....I don't particularly like them but why the bad rating?...I thought they'd be safer in a rollover where the tops of 'normal' doors caved in and would not open whereas frameless doors would not lock up but you rarely see them nowdays so I guess there must be a problem.

Saw a video of a TJ frontal offset 60 KPH crash test - the roof buckled horribly. Not much strength in the passenger compartment, unlike 5 star cars, where the passenger compartment is intact and the doors open normally after the test. Hence the less than 5 star rating for the TJ. I blame the frameless doors and skinny "B" pillar, but that's just my opinion.

If you glue it in...

A motor and boat re-trimmer put me on to Loctite 406 - perfect for regluing Rubber seals on, the trick was to just do an inch at time. Works a treat.
The seals on my ol'TS came adrift....Fixed it right up...

Caution with it. It sticks like the proverbial to a blanket.. One inch at time...When your done, glue a dollar to the pavement out the front for a laugh, it can be removed by a shovel.

TL/W made 4 stars I believe.
