Does anyone know if these wheels will fit my TL Wagon?
I belive the reccomend size for 16's are a 215/60/16 where these are a 215/65/16
Wheels and tyres are off the latest model mitsubishi ASX
Seems like a good replacement for the factory 15's.
I know the wheel is a bit bigger and with these tyres and the speedo will be a little out but I have a navman for that and I dont belive we have any legal issues here in NZ with tyre or wheels sizes.
So just want to make sure their is the clearence and they wont scrub etc...

It going to increase your over all rolling diameter , depending in which state you live in, the local laws will give what your max increase allowed.
To be honest replace the tyre on the rims for the correct tyre, then you will have no issues.

Local Laws arent a problem in New Zealand really just want to know if they will fit in. It would be a shame to get rid of a new set of tyres.. Would definatly replace the tyres with the correct size once they are worn though

Long story short, they will fit. I wouldn't though because as Sparky said, it will throw out your speedo (and odometer.) Sell the tyres if they are good, and replace them. Just one of the perils of new rims unfortunately.
Do you know what their off-set is?....should be marked on back of wheels!

The miata tyre size calulator is saying the tyres will be doing 105.9 with the speedo reading 100 but iam pretty sure the speedo isnt reading 100 at 100 iam sure its about 5 or 6 k out according to my Navman

The tyre might scrub when going over bumps or what not, rims will work and if the tyre do scrub or fowl buy new tyres.

+40 is good!

Has anyone tried this size tyre? really wanna know if they will scrub or not..... Went for a drive last night and at 100k on the speedo iam doing 95k on the navman so ill be about 1k fast at 100 which I think I would rather have than 5-6ks slow. Reading throught the forums you do hear of peoples tyres scrubing on the bigger wheels with lower profiles but the tyres are also alot wider (235 and wider)
Your new OD is 38.4mm bigger than your stock. That is a lot of difference.

Has anyone tried this size tyre? really wanna know if they will scrub or not..... In Australia, you can only legally go 15mm larger than standard, which is why no-one's tried it.

When I ran those figures it should about 3% out, ie. doing 100 on the speedo you'll actually be doing about 103. That's assuming 100 is 100 on the stock 16s, which it seems to be calibrated to rather than 15s, 15s seem to run too slow.
From some research, I found data that said they are an offset of 46.

Got some new factory 16" alloys to replace the 15" steels... they are 3kgs lighter per wheel with the wider tyre

Just to finish the thread I passed on the 215/65/16 but my uncle purchased them for his TJ Sedan He has no issues with rubbing etc and says the speedo is perfect, 100 on navman and speedo.
