linky now worky.
100,000 km is the recommended BELT change interval (if it had a belt). Mitsu doesn't say when the CHAINS should be replaced. They are supposed to last forever. lol Still worth doing at 180,000 odd Km.

chain do strech tho :/ I found out how bad and expensive it can get if a chain get to lose, it broke many things. Well done mate looks good :D
That alarm seem to be kinda on the cheap side hope you got another way in, if the alarm packs in.

Worthwhile checking the driveshaft boots on the TR and the boots on the steering rack. Cheap fix if you catch them early when they split, gets more expensive if dirt gets in and bits get chewed up.
Good job freshening the engine up - should be good for another 180,000 km now.

thankfully ,a previous owner has had all boots replaced ,and also the trans out not too long ago judging by the nice shiny clean state of it all down there,
this came as a nice surprise as i was led to believe i would have to take it out, as the rear main seal was leaking,
which it is not thank goodness! the oil seemed to be comeing from the cam end seal and the rocker cover, although a fair amount was coming from the water pump pully side of the intake manifold also! (now sorted)
although i have not driven the car ,i have only let it run ,would an oil leak from the rear main seal be apparent whilst ticking over or would it only be evident whilst using the transmission?
any idea?

It would leak all the time, when the engine is running. If you are concerned about it - like you get a puddle of oil under the engine after it's been running - degrease that end of the engine/trans from the rocker cover down as well as the underbody, then run the engine. As you say, it can trickle down from the rocker cover gasket, etc. Big job replacing the seal though, trans out, flywheel off, main bearing seal carrier off.
Another thing to check if you have oil leaks is to see if the PCV valve and hose are working properly (valve) and not blocked (hose), as a build up of pressure in the engine can make oil pour out in different places. This is more of a problem on the TR/TS V6 than the 2.6L engine, but worth checking anyway.
At the age of the TR I would imagine its on its second or third set of driveshaft boots. lol Keep an eye on them if they have developed surface cracks. Especially if they are rubber (dull black surface) rather than newer neoprene (shiny surface) material.
