Just thought I'd let you guys know the availability, price & part number of something I finally got off my butt to order in :D

On the Xi Verada models, there is a carpet lining on the inside of the boot. Which stops a fair bit of vibration from 6x9s or subs, anything in that area really. It does a lot for sound absobrtion (as Mal has shown me a few times :P )

Anyway...
I finally got around to ordering mine in today, it set me back just over $60 including GST.
Part number: MI-AW325654 & apparently it'll take 10 working days to bring it over from Japan !
And being a part from Japan, you may have to pay first as I was informed the spare parts department aren't allowed to send things back.

So why a $60 piece of carpet? Because its got that cardboard mould on the back, comes with clips (apparently not all that it could, but some) & will fit in perfectly.

Anyway, in 10 days it should be on & killing some vibrations! :D

I didnt know this was available, i spent ages making my own boot lid vibration reducing thingo.. A layer of thick foamy stuff lining the boot :confused:

I never knew that base models didn't come with until not too long ago... Also re the clips you can buy a packet of 6 from Supercheap for like $4.

Yes, the base models don't have bonnet mats as well which reduces alot of the engine noise.
The XI's and possibly the EI's have a lot of sound deadening stuff added the the car.

i got my boot lid done by a car upholsterer, same colour as the rest of the boot, installed, for only $60 it took them a couple of hours, but well worth it. i had the sound deadening material under neith it, the stick on one and you dont even know its under there.

Got a call from my local mitsubishi spare parts, where I have order this part from...
Well, apparently when the guy placed the order from Japan for me, he got told that its no longer able to be ordered as its discounted or something to that extent.
So when I went back there today, apparently hes been trying to get ring around other dealers and places without any luck, once again apparently even other states.
Either way, its off to the wreckers I go as I'm too lazy to find someone to make this for me :D
