For a couple of weeks now, the indicators on my TP Magna have developed an intermittent fault which, presumably, will only get worse if it is not attended to. Every now and then, instead of flashing, the indicator lights will just stay on. Sometimes they start flashing again after 20 or 30 seconds, but sometimes they just stay on until the indicators cancel. It can also go for several days with the indicators operating normally.
It can happen on a left turn, a right turn, or when the hazard warning lights are on, so I don't think it's a bulb that's causing it and, as it also occurs with the hazard warning lights, I don't think it's the indicator switch itself. The only other thing I can think of is that the flasher unit is on the way out. Would this be the cause, or is there something else that I should check that I haven't thought of?
Sorry if I'm asking an obvious question, but electrics (be they car or home) are not exactly my strong point.
