Hey fellas!

I've got an intermittent fault with my central locking in my KF Xi.

Sometimes when I lock the car with the keypad, the indicators flash and the doors lock OK, but other times you can hear the doors lock, but the indicators don't flash.

When this happens, all the doors are locked except for the drivers side -- so I'm thinking the driver door actuator may be the culprit?

Generally, what's the going rate for a new actuator -- is it worth getting second hand?
Is it easy to replace, or a pain in the ass?

Cheers

Maate,
Not sure of the price of a new actuator. I'd be trying a second hand one from either from a local pick a part wrecker or talk to Mitsfix for further clues/parts. From memory on the TJ's/TL's there is a switch which clips onto the end of the door's lock barrel which is part of the central locking so the KF's will probably have a similar switch. Is worth checking the switch as well as checking for chafed / damaged wiring inside the door. Replacement is fairly straight forward.

i had a drivers door actuator that wouldnt work all the time. i took the door trim off and lubricated all the locking mechanisms, which were dry with wd40. after a day or so i havent had it not lock properly at all. maybe worth trying.
