my driver seat rocks back and forward a few mil. I can see that the plastic/teflon washers have probably worn. i have seen on the forum a while ago that there is fix for this, but didnt get to see it properly. can someone please give some advise to fix, thanks
I think a quick fix was wind it back towards the middle a few cm if you have it bottomed out at either end of the adjustment.
I had a thread marked "TL seat fix" but it seems to have disappeared from the archives - this detailed how to fix it. From memory the fix was to add metal washers to the plastic ones to tighten them.

huh? not sure what you mean.
If you have the seat adjusted as far back as it goes, move it foward a few cm and see if it tightens up. If you have it all the way fowards, move it back a little. Something about the threaded bars it runs on being a little thinner at the ends, making the seat screw a bit loose. If it is definately washers, see if you can add some metal ones to take up the slack.
seat removal tips (if you want to remove it):
Move the seat into a position so you can reach all the bolts without adjusting it, and tilt the seat back fowards to make it easier to fit out the door hole.
!!!disconnect battery if you have airbags!!! then unplug the seat before undoing the bolts, incase it tips and pulls on the cable. Plug it all back in before putting the battery back on.

Keeping in mind that all TL/W's have airbags in both driver and passenger seats
You could possibley replace the washers without unplugging the seat and doing it inside the car without removing the seat
But, if you feel it's easier to remove the seat then raise the seat all the way and move all the way back so you can remove the front 2 bolts
Then move seat all the way forward to remove the rear ones
Move seat all the way to the back again and disconnet the battery completely and leave for about 30mins
Tilt chair towards the rear of the car so you can unplug the airbag and power wires
Fold chair forward and remove from car
To install is the reverse making sure everything is connected again before connecting the battery to save the SRS light coming on

i thought it is fine to remove seats and air bag plug as long as you dont put ignition on while it was unpluged, had to do it for pasanger seat for amps worked ok no warning lights.

that makes sence, do you remember what size the washers were by any chance? as dont want to take seat out then have to go get washers. cant drive with no seat lol
oops forgot the airbags :S
