Can someone please let me know if the horn on the TH and up models works when the car is off? Eg the horn sounds when the horn pad is pressed and there is no key in the ignition.

No it does not. If you need to test it, just leave a door ajar and hit lock on the remote.

AFAIK, it's a road worthy requirement that the horn must activate even if the key is not in the ignition.

I'd test this for you, but it's almost midnight and the kids are asleep :)

Mine does on my KH... So I suppose so, unless my car is different from everyone else...

Sounds like your fuse might be blown or something. I hope it isn't that someone's done a dodgy on your wiring.

I will check again. I was operating from memory with my KH. I have recently replaced the horns and did notice that one of them was not actually connected at all.

What Mike initialy said was to test if the horn works at all (if it does not work via the horn pad) is to leave a door ajar and try to lock it with the remote. If the horn works then it will honk.

Edit: And yes, my horn also works without the key.

Interesting. My horn doesn't sound with the keyless entry, unless I hold down whichever button is the panic button which triggers the alarm. :)

My horn now works with no key.

Perhaps it sounds just the one horn and not both I think.

Thanks everyone.:)Just wanted to know so I can connect my horn to the BEM,for the alarm to work.In TE/F models like mine, the horn would only work with the key in.
