Hi All,
Looking for some help to replace the power window mechanism in my daughter's 380.

The window is in the up position and will not operate. I have confirmed power to the motor but there is no sign of any movement.

The help I am after is "how to remove the power mechanism from the door."

I have removed the door liner, also the lower screws and upper nuts from the mechanism, as well as the motor mounting screws. (Have also placed a couple of wooden pegs through holes at each end to support the widow when the winder is removed.)

The problem I have is the upper end of the winder mechansim won't release from the door frame. (ie studs won't push back through door frame.) I'm reluctant to use much leverage for fear of breaking the window.

Are there other fasteners to release?
Will the winder mech come out through the door opening without further dis assembly?

Would appreciate any help.

Cheers Geoff

The best bet, do up the bolts again, plug in the power, hit the motor with a hammer as often is the DC motor which is playing up. THis will get the motor running again and allow you to lower the reg to remove it

The reg will not come out wile it is in the complete up position, best to have it 3/4 down

If this fails, grab some side cutters and cut both the cables and this will allow the reg to also drop

I know this doesn't help you directly, but when I bought my 380 the drivers window stopped working. Regulator was fine, switch was okay, it just wasn't doing anything. I took the door skin off and the plastic behind it, found the regulator and gave it a good hit with the back end of a big screwdriver - Window has worked fine ever since.

Thanks for the suggestions, I haven't tried giving the motor a hit so that will be worth a try.

The need to drop the window slightly to get the winder out also makes a lot of sense, so I'll cut the cables if I can't get it to run at all.

Thanks again to you both for taking the time to post.

CAREFUL when you cut it, because the window may drop suddenly.

Had another look at the problem window today, two taps while holding the down switch on, it released immediately and is working fine.

Son in law recons he's saved $200+, sounds simple, but we wouldn't have had such a pleasing result without your help.

Thanks again.

Cheers Geoff

Try just hitting your door trim from the inside, while holding down / up the power window button (depending on what position its stuck at)

worked for me.
