Hey y'all,
Anyone know the max clearance for wheels at the rear for us 380 owners? Is 9.5" gonna be too much? Interested in buying rims off a member on AMC - fronts are 8" and then a scary 9.5" for the rear.

I'm gonna say no to the 9.5" rears however post up the offset etc. if the offset was right & you maybe had coilovers on the rear they might go. I have 8.5" alround & have clearence to the coilovers although not sure how much as I have never measured it.

I also have 8.5" allround with 38 offset. I get minor rubbing on rears with full load.

The offset is 40 on these wheels. Might let this interest go then if I need to buy some coilovers to clear it.

With a 40 offset you will be having all sorts of problems with contact on the outer guards let alone possibly the inner suspension. My new wheels coming are 40 offset in an 8.5" & will fit under the guards nicely. The 9.5's with same offset will stick out another 1/2" which is asking for trouble unless you do some serious guard rolling!!

Seeing the front wheels do all the work it's silly to have bigger rims on the back. (Unless it's for appearance only and to impress rear wheel drive owners). I would stick to the one size all round, and avoid problems with the spare if you get a flat tyre.

Yeah I was thinking I'd wear my tyres down alot and would give me massive problems with my suspension in general. It is a cosmetic mod only too. My main question is....
If I fit these, will I suffer these problems right away? the sale is a bargain and I was hoping I could fit them, and get the rims replaced with some 265/275's in a weeks time - this is the deal breaker. I wouldn't have any rear passengers in this time as it's just usually me and my gf in the car. So yeah, would my car survive a week with no passengers? or would my suspension and guards just give out?

PS - I'm a tyre noob so thus the poorly structed question LOL

If you have stock suspension they may survive but they will be hanging out your guards on the rear so I can't see the point of even contemplating it.

Hmm, just been trying to google this. Does this mean regardless of tyre - even optimised for this rim I will still have issues unless the guards are rolled?

So even with the appropriate tyre I'd have to get my guards rolled?

I've got the same wheels and offset as Fooz on king superlows all round and haven't rolled my guards an they JUST clear. Even rolling them and if they fit they'd have to be very close to hitting something, personally I wouldn't go wider then 8.5

They will probably go with stock suspension & no load in the back but forget about lowered suspension. Can't you do a test fit to see how they sit?

You will find it hard to get the rear guards rolled professionally as they are double skinned. You will have to do them yourself but be careful. I did mine following Foozercool's instructions but found my paint split anyway.

I took to mine with a slogging hammer, tyres only rub on the plastics now not the metal but I do run a 70mm drop on coilovers :P

I'm getting a set of 5 Enkei GTC01's from the US, should be here later this month I hope.
The local importer had the order for 6 months & only came up with 2 in the end :facepalm
These are 20x8.5 but 40 offset instead of 35 which I run now so should stop the rubbing & may even be able to sneak the front down a bit lower :)

Yeah I'll go for a test fit, it's a bargain anyway. If the condition of these rims are good, I'll just buy a new pair of 8.5s for the rear with 40 offset just for a snug fit. The sale vomes with an extra pair of tyres so it's a win win for me anyway
Nice work with the Enkei's Fooz
