do you have a goal? or is it a bit of general improvement? engine is an expensive place to start... exhausts are cheap. if your rolling on stockies a set of rims and some lowered springs are great for a tangible mod that you and everyone else can see. if thats what floats your boat.
im not a 3rd gen expert having skipped from second to 380 but ive been told that xforce headers are to be avoided, as are rpw (all rpw products really).
best advice is get out to some QLD socials and check out some cars that have already been modded. talk to the owners.
remember at the end of the day the cars yours so spend your dosh where you get the most satisfaction not where other people tell you to spend it :D

Thanks stormie I love my veradas look stock i think exterior id like to do something with the lights and maybe rear bumper but thats about all. My goal is to improve its performance, i figured it would be better to start with the engine so i have a solid platform to work from ast its currently the stock 12 year engine. I guess i need tips on whats important and what makes a diference. The machanics ive talked to either dont care enough to give me good advice or are trying to sell me everything.

Use the search function to have a browse through the forums, as performance gains are an often-discussed topic. Having said that, there's not a whole lot of aftermarket support for Magnas though, and it's not easy to get significant power gains out of the stock engine.

Give as you say the engine is 12yrs old, I am in the same boat. So when the upcoming 200,000klm timing belt is due, I am going to install a (much lower klm) 380 motor. This will provide a significant increase in performance for (relatively) not lots of coin.

But for seat of the pants gains in your car, I cannot recommend starting with a front brake upgrade! They are crap and the AWD or Ralliart or 380 brakes are an easy upgrade. Makes a hell of a difference.

lol aargh! lol i was hoping 6g75 transplant wouldnt come up... you guys with your silly magnas snapping up all the good 380 motors inflating the price for when i blow mine up :D (dw jokes- probably the most cost effective gain you could do darkshadow)

How much is a 380 engine? And mine has the raly art brakes already

Did the GTV come with uprated brakes? Mine don't offer fantastic response. Do the job but a bit of play in the pedal it feels like. 380 brakes do much to resolve that?

No they have stock single pistons at front and solid rotors at rear
