Easy question, already searched but found nothing relevant, only people wanting to fix broken handbrakes.
Can you swap the 3rd Gen plastic handbrake handle out for the fantastic leather and chrome 380 handbrake handle? Is it easy?
Cheers,
Jake

NO .....totally different design and style, the best thing you can do is if you can score a 380 one pull the leather bit off and cut your Magna one, check out my ride thread for more info

Michael,
Slightly off topic, but how hard is it to swap out a 380 handbrake lever?
Mal has a leather one advertised for $85 + postage (probably the same one one Jakeys is looking at!), I'm tempted, but I've fiddled with my stock handbrake lever and it looks like a tough job to replace.

Hahahahahaha! Seeing Mal's is what made me think of doing this! Nice pick. :P

I found where you posted the photo of your leather handbrake on your Magna but I couldn't find any information on how you went about doing it. I like what you did, is there any technical info on what was involved?

Nothing to it, if you look closely at the photo you can see where the 380 one is slipped on,I just measured and cut the Magna cover off and slid the leather one on, mind you it is a heck of a job to remove it, they use good glue at the factory...still, if I can do it, anyone can
And Kim, it is really easy to change the handbrake over, you get it and I will fit it

Nah I might leave it. All yours TreeAdeyMan! EDIT: Oh and thanks for the info maggie! Was hoping for a straight swap with the button, a cut job is not something I'm prepared to do for this. :)

Back to you Jake!
I picked up a nice leather one from Eddy's just now for a lot less than Mal's asking price (sorry Mal, that's business!), and fitted it myself (thanks for the offer Michael).
Wasn't that hard to figure out, only one tiny glitch - no way could I reinsert the final holding clip on the power socket cable, high up on the inside edge of the console. No biggie, I doubt if it will rattle.
