Looking for some ideas where i can get some custom modifications done to my bonnet of the Ralliart.
Id really like a EVO6 scoop (as seen in the pic below) but dont know where to start.
Has anyone done anything custom to their bonnet (scoop, vents etc) and can post up a pic ??
Where in Sydney should i go to get the ball rolling ??
evo scoops look **** on the tj man.. ruins the V line running down to the front end.

Yeah i tend to agree with bain, there was a white TJ posted here not long ago with one and it looked munted.
You can pull it off an TE - TH but it just doesn't work on the TJ bonnet IMO

i gotta agree with that. a big part of the TJ bonnet s the V running ot the nose. CHuckign a big EVO VI vent in the middle would not only ruin it but look outta place.
if your gunna get anything get vents on the side of the bonnet
just my opinion

Yeah, I agree with the above.

Looks like a nice finish and would be interesting to see if it goes through the bonnet but it looks better on a TE-TH like TBuTcher's. I'd go for the Evo air intake scoop but only if it's functional. Although it could be hard to get it asthetically balanced and lined up with the induction gear.

Thanks for the replies.
So your saying just go with some bonnet vents ie Cosworth ??
I just looked at the link that Redav posted and the EVO scoop on the TJ in that pic didnt look too bad.
You guys dont think the car in that link looked alright ??

HOW DARE YOU RALLIART BOY??? Imagine all the EVO6 owners out there who must be offended by your blasphemous imitation? Somehow this topic sounds familiar.

Fullysikmagna,
My car is a EVO6 wannabe ?? Dont think so.
Im not a fan of copying other cars and trust me, if i wanted to buy a EVO6 i could easily have had one.
But, i like the idea of having a unique car.
Im sure an EVO6 would get the attention my Ralliart does as no one would take it serious as most Lancers these days are mock up EVO6's which is why i liked the idea of a Ralliart Magna as i thought they wouldnt be copied.
At the end of the day, if it makes you feel better by copying a Ralliart, then go for it. Just dont drive around thinking it is the real thing and making people look at my car and question whether it is original or not and whether they can take it or not.
lol lol

I think it looks okay but the TE-TH bonnet suits it better. It disrupts the flow of the bonnet ridge whereas the vent sits inside of the wider one.
Guys, can we stop picking on one another?

Fair call, im not a fan of copying other cars.
Thats why i have used the word "Custom" in my Title and asked for ideas.
I havent specifically came out and said i am going to copy a car.
Do you have any ideas or do you just like to flame people ??
You must be very bored if all you can do is watch topics and see if you can make a scene.

Likewise. Well it is a Tuesday night, what else is there to do when you have to wake up at 6:30 for work?

calm down mate, they were just having a joke.
If you have a POD, a set of side vents could really get you some gains. not to mention cooling hte engine bay generally.
On second look at that TJ, the middle vent looks ok, but still out of place

Ok...
Well I dont like it on a TJ at all.. it does look totally out of place..
You might get a Evo VII or VIII one to look ok as it doesnt rise out of the bonnet like mine does.
a VII and VIII have a single ridge done the center of their bonnets .. so the TJ one "might" be ok for that style.
To get the side vent like mine to be in the "best place" you have to cut into the support on the very edge of the bonnet... (just a warning).. mind you to get the main one in I had to cut 4 supports :D
I would STRONGLY suggest NOT to do as I did.... cut out a small section of your bonnet and paste in the fibreglass bit... IT WILL CRACK!!!
Your other option... not that expensive is to get a 2nd hand TE-TH bonnet and grill ..... ok so you change the look of your car... but that is what you want anyway... Just an idea..
a new chrome nose is only around $60. not sure on a bonnet.
then when you sell the car .. you could always put it back on... or do a swap with someone who has a TE-TH and swap them for your TJ bits...
dont do cosworth vents... they are crap and ldont suite the car IMHO ... if you can stick with mitsubishi shaped vents then it will at least tie in somewhat.

Thanks Haydn, appreciate your input.
Anyone got any pics of a EVO VII or EVO VIII that i can have a look at ??
Anywhere in Sydney that sells / installs these types of vents ??
Would these vents require cutting into the supports ??
The only reason i went straight for the EVO6 scoop was that Mitsubishi quoted that the Ralliart kit was based on the EVO6 bodykit but i cant see a problem with looking at other scoops.

PS...
If you go to Mitsubishi you can buy a alloy bonnet for $1200... BUT!!!!!! it doesnt come with all the insert /vent parts... ie no lip on the cut out section... it will look funny :(
I was going to do it until I saw one at a panel beaters are realised what they wher like.. and what I would have got for my money ... and the inserts are ALOT more :(

I thought it was the wing that was from the EVO6 not the front spoiler, i thought the spoiler was from the EVO7. correct me if i am wrong but thats wat i thought.

Thanks for the links Haydn.
Looks like the front bar is based on the EVO7.
Liking the EVO7 scoop and vent as well.
Wondering now if the EVO7 or EVO8 scoops/vent will be a straight fit or the supports will have to be cut as well ??
Any ideas ??

all vent will require "trimming of the crossmembers"
This is my Brother-in-law :)

put a wrx bonet scoop (booyaa style) and it might look better on TJ(just my opinion) , we do have photochop gurus here who can put both evo scoops and wrx scoops on a TJ magna and present it from different angles.

Nothin against Bens car.. (you know I love it dude) ...
But I dont think that that style suits any car... let alone a Magna... IMHO.

The only reason the WRX has the scoop is for a top mount intercooler and standard induction. I've seen a few with the scoop removed when they move to FMIC and a front CAI.
Looks so much better :P
Vents are good ... scoops suck :) (IMHO)
