I just installed some KYB shocks/bumpstops and Kingspring lows (KFCL42 and KRCL43 (think they are the part numbers) in my TJ magna today. I dropped it off the jacks and it doesn't seem as low as I thought, but the main thing is that when I turn I notice the left side making a bit of a sound, like a thunk, nothing, thunk.Has anybody had this problem before or have an insight as to what it could be?

First, takes a month to settle, will drop just a bit .

Second, if you go full lock left hand down, and there is a thunk as you straighten up, it may be the spring just slipping a touch on the bottom of the seat of the strut.
Mine does it, nfi why tho.

Just to check its the same thing, get someone else in the car, and get next to the LHF as the driver idles forward and straightens up from a left hand lock. I can hear the spring thunk and then ring slightly, i.e. that same sound you get when you tap a spring with a tool.

You may not have alligned the strut top properly, I have never had any of these make noise so no it is not normal

Thanks guys, I had a suspicion that the top strut may have been just past the recess in the top plate. I jacked the front up and had someone turn lock to lock and you could see the spring slip and jump ever so slightly - which confirms that it is incorrectly seated as the drivers side is fine and makes no noises. Thanks again. I'll pull it out and fix it up.

Well I fixed the seating problem on the left front, doing the rear's now. Am I meant to install a new bump stop kit as such, KYB don't list one with the rear shocks on their site, the ones on the old shocks look pretty good, but on the base of the old shock is like a hard bushing of some sort but it doesn't feel like it will come off the shock so I'm a little confused as to what to do here.
