I'd power it down by unplugging the rear connections, pulling the fuse, or disconnecting the battery, In that order of preference.....

If that doesnt fix it....It looks like it took a whack of power when you reconnect the battery, (leave your radio on when you disconnected the power did you???)
Recovery chances, I'd bet 90% its knackered.
The last resort is to tear it down and inpect, clean with contact cleaner.... (doubt that will fix it though)
Head units are cheap as chips, and the arepro Head unit to magna loom adapters are clean fitting, inexpensive and easy to use....
