Just wanted to share my find. HPI make pod filters to suit Mitsubishi MAF sensor. Beauty is it bolts on straight to our maf sensor no need for adapter & the cut out in the filter is exactly shaped like our MAF so it does not create restriction like some adapters. Its cotton with no oil so no issues with getting MAF sensor dirty. Just Jap in sydney sells them, one downside they are not cheap ($90).

This is not a thread about benefits of pod filters or any power gains. Im not saying you will gain power with it. Yes we all know ram intakes are bad & you will suck n hot air bla bla bla. Im not advocating in favor of this filter, i just though it was an interesting product to share. I have installed it on my car & like it so far. If were on the path of getting rid of factory air box set up this is an option to consider imo.
No it will not fit in factory air box. If you want enclosure you will have to make it up.
