Hey guys,

Got my grandpa wing that i sprayed with some niteshade to darken, but it got bugs and other crap on it, so was wanting to sand it back and do another coat. Was wondering what tools i would need ect.

Ie; What grit sand paper, any oils to make it look better, clear coat to make it shine ect

If its not too gritty grab a sheet of 400 Grit Wet Rub Paper and give that a go.

No oils, no clear, once cured you could probably give it a polish but the gain would be minimal if anything at all.

to add another coat and remove any small inperfections, use 800 grit wet and dry with a constant flow of water, then hit it with some 1200 with a constant flow of water. let it dry, wipe away all the left over residue with a soft rag. recoat with niteshade.

remember, with nite shade, to get the best results, they recomend that you spray from the top and spray enough to let the paint run down the surface. this is almost impossible on anything curved like your wing or tail lights. but in saying that, for second best results do 1 coat to however dark you want it. not 3 or 4 light coats.

if you want to just try and gloss up your current coat, 2000+grit with flowing water, the wax. but it may remove more paint than you want.
