Alright so the driver window went down and stayed there last night. Looking at it this morning the cables frayed at the bottom pulley.

Can the cable be easily changed out? Or should I safe me the trouble and get me the full assembly? Has anyone done this at the dealers? How about would it cost there?

Full reg, fairly easy swap.

Did it a long time ago, $170 from memory.
The replacement was a different, and in my opinion, a much better design.
Or get a good secondhand one from Mits-fix.

Just did mine yesterday, $40NZ for the full regulator off a TW at the wreckers. Took maybe 45mins to swap out.

Couple of observations
1) Either be careful taking the factory sound deadening sheet off or make sure you have some dynamat to hand.
2) When your putting the new regulator in wire it up before you put it in the door and get the glass carrier to be half way - this make is much easier to align the glass than having it all the way up.
