My wife's 2003 magna sedan has a broken rope and mast on the antenna. Went to repco to get a new one and they gave me one that had teeth all they way along it. The old one has a smooth rope with a little knob on the end and is much thinner with flat sides rather than oval.

The guy at Repco reckoned it was some new system that made it easier to fit and there are some other threads on here that seem to use the same system but so far as I can tell there is no way they can work together.

Anyone know whether I am doing something wrong or if there is a quick fix that doesnt require replacing the whole unit.

My 2003 Diamante has the same smooth rope with the ball at the end. I searched for hours and couldn't find anyone who had the same setup. I was starting to think mine was the only one out there. I tried to fit the toothed mast but it never worked well. If anyone knows who carries the correct replacement I'm interested.

Tj to TW masts are not replaceable, they are a complete unit that needs to be replaced
