Looking for some help if possible.

Not trying to do anything illegal or dodgy but i need to see if anyone knows how to winfback the mileage on a 2nd Gen Speedo ?

Reason being is a few of the lights and the fuel gauge on my original one have stopped working so i have purchased another one.

Problem is the one i bought has 450000km on the clock but my original has 190000km and i want them to match up.

Can it be done ?

Its only illegal if he puts it in a car, and fails to declare it if he does.....

You'll need to fill in a Stat Dec and get it signed if you plan to sell it on.

I didnt wind anything back or forward I match one cluster to the cluster in the car. So I done nothing illegal :) It up to the watcher to realise you cant wind back.

Anyway I cant sell my car as the car gone past it sell by date :P Who would want a 338 thousand km car anyway lol

Its not illegal, Its only illegal to sell on a car with FALSE Kms. you can send a digital 3rd gen one to a company and they will set whatever kms you like on it.

Easy, get the cluster out replace lamps, and you can open the cluster and replace the fuel gauge :)

Have you checked the back of the cluster to see if the odometer/speedo block is removable like the third gens? If so you can swap over the whole odometer/face into the new cluster without having to risk damaging it.

The third gen has 4 screws holding the speedo/odometer in. I pulled my factory cluster apart to reset the kms to actual (from 330,000 to 390,000).

Speedo is removable hold in by 5 screws but I needed to change the kms as my speedo was different to my original. So I needed to change the kms :)
